OPEN MUSIC LAB DAYS (FREE)

Milne Grove (open only to 3rd grade recorder students to learn recorder and then pass on to computer, piano, Orff, etc.)Fridays from 8:05-8:30 am (buzz in and office will let y ou in) NO LAB on Fri. January 27 - Mrs. Randolph at IMEA Music Conference. 

Kelvin Grove (open to any 4-8th grade student wanting to work on any aspect of music class) - Wednesdays from 8-8:30 am (knock on door #1 loudly or go to door # 4 and come through office)

D91 Students - All year - we're saving metal tabs off cans - for cash to help purchase Kelvin Grove gym speakers (starting with old gym then new). Turn tabs into your homeroom teachers.

Music Technology Fund-raiser (Grades K-8):We have c. 130 Valucards left @ $10. They are discount cards good every day at over 2000 Lockport & Chicagoland locations for a year. Reminders:
 
Tuesday, December 13
1 - Try on your chorus uniform and make SURE it still fits.  Let me know by email or writing by 8:45am Tues. Dec. 13  if your child's tux shirt no longer fits. I will try and loan them a shirt for the concert until an order arrives.
2 - Chorus is over at 4 pm
3 - Full Cast practice is 4-5 pm
 
Wednesday, December 14
1 - Parent Volunteers who have already filled out Volunteer forms and can work should come decorate any time from 12:10 pm on. The actual gym set-up will be from 2:30pm on. We really need everyone to help if possible.
2 - 6:30 pm chorus members bring baked goods packaged ready to be priced - choir members not in band - report to choir room to get cummerbund and tie (band students in choir use BAND cummerbund and ties or jackets that band uses and reports to the location Mrs. Plagman had told you to go
 
3 - 7pm is the  Chorus & Band Winter concert & bake sale in the KG old gym
4 - 8:30 pm TBA - all parents please stay and help with chairs, risers, etc. after concert
 
Thursday, December 15
7:30 am - 8:30 am set stage for Dec. 20 program - finish decorating
 
Friday, Dec. 16
- 7:30 am-8:30 am set costumes
- chorus practice until 4pm
- Full cast Dress Rehearsal with all costumes, props, etc. until 6pm
 
Monday, Dec. 19 -
Full Cast & Chorus practice will Milne & Kelvin Grove Grades 2-5 in the morning during school (chorus members are excused from classes, but must turn in homework on time to teachers and get assignments)
 
Tuesday, Dec. 20 -
 
9:15 am & 1:15 pm "Toyland" Christmas musical presented by KG Chorus and Grades K-5 - for the public in the KG old gym (chorus members that are not cast - should wear their nicest clothes. We are not wearing chorus uniforms for this program) 
 
 NO CHORUS after school- we will be taking sets down
 
2:15 pm ALL available parents, cast members, and tech crew are needed to take entire set down by 4 pm and store. Please stay and help if at all possible. We have no time to do it the next day. It must be done by Dec. 20.
 
If you haven't filled out a Volunteer background check for this year, please do so NOW. I am planning a chorus trip and need to have them on file now.

2004 History

Congratulations Kelvin Grove Chorus on earning Honors Choir at IGSMA 2004 State Contest (One of the top 3 Choirs at Contest!) 

The Kelvin Grove Chorus was selected as "Honors"Choir as an outstanding choir at the State Illinois Grade School Music Contest held in Crystal Lake Saturday, April 24. Kelvin Grove Choir was one of three top choirs selected in the State. The judges did not have to select any choir for this honor. Congratulations! We are proud of your accomplishments!

Congratulations to the Kelvin Grove Chorus for earning FIRST Place at the District IL Grade School Music Association Contest held in Plainfield Saturday, March 20 at Troy Middle School in Plainfield. Thank you to all of the parents and friends who came and supported us at the contest. A SPECIAL THANKS to the Lockport Police Department for their Annual Police Escort back into town from earning FIRST Place! The Police Escort was one of the highlights of our day. We appreciate all of the positive support we receive from everyone. The Chorus will now go on to STATE Festival in Crystal Lake Saturday, April 24.
