WELCOME BACK!
The beginning of the school year is ALWAYS so busy! It is very important to begin the year right and that involves being organized with your school work and other activities. Here are just a few ideas to make your life easier . . .
Homework:
1. Find the right place at home to study. You may find that sitting at the kitchen table works best for you. Some may have a desk and chair in another room - make sure you avoid distractions (a nearby television, telephone, cell phone and so on).
2. Make sure you have all your supplies before you begin. It is important to have the worksheet, textbook, paper, pen/pencil with you so that you don't waste time.
3. Organize your homework and set priorities. You know that project that isn't due for three weeks? If you have your work for tomorrow completed, start on that project. If you work on the big projects a little bit at a time, they will be done in no time!
4. Getting started. Some students like to start with something easy - that way, they have a good start. Others like to do the most difficult task first - then it is done. What do you like to start with? Once you get started, it will go easier for you!
5. Take breaks as needed. You may want to work for 20 minutes and take a short break. If you don't feel the need to take a break, then don't!
6. Keep at it! The more you develop good habits and study skills, the easier it will become to learn and it will also become fun for you!
