DECEMBER NEWS
READING
We are moving right along through our second reader/anthology Catch a Dream. Some of the comprehension skills that we will be focusing on in this book are character traits, details, and cause/effect. This week's story is "Try Your Best" A copy of the story will be sent home on Wednesday.
MATH
This month in our Saxon Math program, we will learn how to identify even and odd numbers, identify one more and one less than a given number, count by 2's and 10's, count dimes and pennies together, divide shapes in half, number a clock face, and add 2 to an even number.
PHONICS
This week, we will be introducing the R-controlled vowel sound /or/. We will also be working on the contractions -'s, -'ll, and -n't, initial blends with /s/ and /r/, and compound words
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE
During the month of December, we will be learning about Frogs/Amphibians and the life cycle of a frog.
BIRTHDAYS
