Newbery Medal

Eighteenth century British bookseller John Newbery got an award named after him. Each year the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for kids is given this coveted award., "The Newbery Medal". The Newbery Medal and Newbery Honors are given by the Association for Library Service to Children, which is a division of the American Library Association.
