Mrs. Nicole Black is the new principal of Milne Grove School. Mrs. Black’s college career began at Illinois State University, and she graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Francis in December of 1999. Nicole then began her teaching career in New Lenox, where she stayed until the birth of her third child. Upon returning to the classroom, she taught in Frankfort and earned her master's degree while working there. After completing her administrative degree, Mrs. Black became the leader of Braceville Elementary School, then Beecher Elementary School, where she served as principal for 10 years before joining the Milne Grove Team.
Nicole and her husband of over 25 years live in Manhattan, where they raised their 3 children. They have a son (24) who has an Associate's Degree from JJC and is an Amazon driver. They have two daughters (22 & 20), and both are going into education. One of the girls graduated from Grand Valley State University (Michigan) with a degree in elementary education. The other is attending the University of Alabama and will be graduating in 2028 with a degree in secondary science education. As a family, we love playing games, camping, and spending time together on our boat in the summer!
Mrs. Black is so excited to join the District 91 and Milne Grove team, and is looking forward to learning about all of the students and their families during this school year!
