School Board Announces "New" Superintendent
The Lockport School District 91 Board of Education has named Mrs. Jaime Koziol as the next superintendent of schools, starting July 1st, 2026, to succeed Dr. Kathleen Wilkey, who is transitioning to a new opportunity at the end of the school year. Mrs. Koziol currently serves as the Building Principal at Milne Grove School, a role she has occupied for fifteen years.
The school board reports being excited about the promotion of an internal candidate with a proven track record of success within the Lockport School District 91 family. Her passion for our school district is evident in her ability to work collaboratively with the students, parents, families, staff, and community while demonstrating her commitment and capability to succeed in this new role.
Mrs. Koziol earned her Superintendent endorsement through the Educational Leadership Doctor of Education Program at the University of St. Francis. She earned her Master of Science in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Lewis University. With only 2 courses remaining for completion, Mrs. Koziol will be engaging in coursework through the University of Illinois Springfield to complete the Chief School Business Official endorsement.
“The Board of Education is thrilled to announce Mrs. Jaime Koziol as the next leader for District 91,” Board President Garrett said. “Mrs. Koziol will promote a culture of excellence throughout the district. As a school board, we have witnessed, firsthand, the professional growth of Mrs. Koziol during her D91 tenure - her integrity, visionary leadership, optimism, and exceptional communication skills. We are incredibly fortunate to promote an internal candidate that embodies the Hornet culture and possesses the trust of the staff to not only ensure stability but also the continued growth of the district.”
"It is a privilege to step into this new role within a district that I care for so deeply. During my tenure as Principal, I have focused on fostering a culture of empathy and excellence,” said Mrs. Koziol. “I am eager to serve at the district level, building upon the district’s strong foundation to further support our collective goals. My background in fiscal stewardship and strategic operations has prepared me for district-wide leadership that honors our shared traditions while innovating to ensure a bright future for all stakeholders. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to continue leading within the community I am proud to call home."
